Skiing resort “Ratschings – Jaufen” (1.300 – 2.100 meters above sea level)
The skiing resort “Ratschings-Jaufen” is one of the most successful skiing areas of South Tyrol. Modernized ski lifts, snow guarantee, a vast variety of restaurants and huts and a breathtaking panorama make this skiing area so special!
You will expect 8 modern ski-lifts and 25 kilometers of slopes. In less than ten minutes by car you will reach the skiing area. If you wish you can use the free ski bus (bus-stop is 200 meters away from our Hotel).
The fantastic snow situation as well as the absolutely modern artificial snow generating plant guarantee a successful start of the skiing season in December. The slopes are diversified and offer something for every level. Snowboarders will have fun in the newly arranged “Funpark”. In addition, you will find a long tobogganing slope, which you can reach with the ski lift.
Rosskopf (948 – 2.176 meters above sea level) – The Sun Terrace of Sterzing
The skiing area “Rosskopf” (transl. = head of the horse) is called after the local mountain and is very popular. The cableway departs directly from the town and brings you up to the skiing area where you will find great slopes, cosy huts and a fantastic panoramic view on the surrounding mountains. The skiing area offers 13 kilometers of slopes and 4 lifts. At the valley station you find a ski rental and ski service as well as a ski-school. The Rosskopf skiing area is definitely a good bet!
Skiing area Ladurns – “Small, but good”
Approximately 15 kilometers away from us, North of Sterzing in the Pflersch valley you will find the skiing area Ladurns. It can be reached by car. The skiers will find 12 kilometers of slopes and 2 skilifts.
What makes this skiing area special is its breathtaking view on the “Tribulaun” - a dolomite massif with stunning beauty. The skiing area offers long wonderful downhill runs amidst the beautiful South Tyrolean woods. As the slopes are at the North side of the mountain, the conditions are fantastic until late in April which makes this skiing area an insider’s tip for that period.
