Würzjoch / Passo delle Erbe - Grödnerjoch / Passo  Gardena

A half-day excursion to the limestone Dolomites (special tip from the operator's son)

Start from the hotel and proceed to Sterzing/Vipiteno, driving on the National Highway until you reach Brixen/Bressanone. From Brixen/Bressanone, you should continue up to Plose and on to the Würzjoch / Passo delle Erbe. At the pass, there is a small hut where you can have a bite to eat. After enjoying a refreshment, you can continue to St. Martin; there, take a right turn towards Corvara where the Grödnerjoch / Passo di Gardena Road begins. At the Grödnerjoch / Passo di Gardena (2,121 meters above sea-level), you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Dolomite Mountains. Continue your journey by driving to Gröden / Gardena (Wolkenstein, St. Christina) till you reach St. Ulrich / Ortisei. After passing the town, turn right towards Lajen/Laion (St. Peter), and continue till Klausen/Chiusa. From Klausen/Chiusa, drive to Brixen/Bressanone and Sterzing/Vipiteno, returning to Mareit/Mareta.
