Lake Obernberg (German: Obernberger See)
The Lake Obernberg lies at an elevation of 1,590 metres in the valley with the same name near the Brenner Alps. With such a big area size and volume it is the biggest Lake on the southern side of Tyrol. The fresh water is provided subterranean by the Obernberger Seebach. Around the lake are travel paths.
The Lake has A quality on the surface and is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes of our country. On the bottom of the Lake is a curtain of algae which makes the water muddy at a depth of 13 metres. Bathing is prohibited, so that the fish population and the quality of the water remains untouched. In the Lake live trout and other fish.
Merano’s Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle
The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, located in the town of Merano (Meran) in northern Italy, is a botanical garden nestled into a twelve-hectare amphitheatre with an altitude differential of 100 meters. Trauttmansdorff offers spectacular views of exotic gardens and breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains and the spa resort town of Merano.
The Geoparc Bletterbach forms part of the Unesco World Natural Heritage Site and covers an area of 818 ha. The unique landscape contains plant fossils and dinosaur traces. The geology and geomorphology gain special significance in the open air display and visitor centre.
Lake Braies - a pearl among Dolomite lakes
The Lago di Braies (1,469 m) is situated in the homonymous valley, the Val di Braies, which diverts from Val Pusteria between Villabassa and Monguelfo. This lake, located in the heart of the Braies Dolomites, is characterised by its unique position in the north of the nature park Fanes-Sennes-Braies. The geological origin of the emerald green lake is referable to a reservoir dam, consequence of a mudflow.
However, if you prefer pleasant walks you can walk round Lago di Braies and enjoy the imposing mountain peaks. During a romantic rowing boat trip, however, you will completely forget everyday life and enjoy the beauty of the fairytale-like scenery.
The most famous wine-growing region of South Tyrol you will find the warmest waters of the Alps. The largest natural lake in Tyrol in summer invites you with its pleasant water temperature for swimming, sailing and surfing.
