Cross-Country Skiing

Cross-country skier can find more than 100 kilometers of cross-country ski runs in the South Tyrolian Wipptal. There are easy runs as well as difficult ones: everybody gets their money's worth.The cross-country ski run Mareit-Gasteig has its start right in the village and goes through beautiful landscape - away from traffic and noice - to Gasteig.

Tobboganning

Friends of toboggan don't come off badly at all! As tobogganning is really popular, there are lots of tobbogan-runs: most every village has one. Some of the runs are illuminated in the evenings.Tobboganning is fun for the young and the old!
If you decide not to take your sledge with you, you can borrow it at the different ski rentals of the area.

Our skiing areas

All you expect from your winter holidays, you will find in the South Tyrolian Wipptal. Three skiing areas with more than 50 kilometers of slopes invite to skiing and snowboarding.

Ratschings:

Schigebiet Ratschings The skiing area Ratschings-Jaufen, which is 15 minutes away from our hotel, provides you with every luxury. Powerful and comfortable ski-lifts ensure relaxing and refreshing holidays. The wide area offers slopes for every skier - beginner or expert. Carvers enjoy the broad slopes. Everybody on the slopes looks forward to a hot drink in one of the cosy ski-huts!

Roßkopf:

Schigebiet Rosskopf The Roßkopf ("Head of a horse") is a very sunny skiing area and it is liked by everyone. Directly from the town Sterzing a cable railway takes you up to the skiing area, where you will find lively descents, warm huts and a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. Roßkopf has 5 ski-lifts; moreover, it offers a ski service, a ski rental and a ski school with perfectly trained ski instructors.

Ladurns:

Schigebiet Ladurns Ladurns is the skiing area that is furthest away from us yet it ist still easy to reach. It lies in the Pflersch valley. It is one of the most beautiful areas of the Wipptal. Only a year ago a new ski-lift was installed. It takes you up above the tree line and offers a wonderful view of the imposing Tribulaun and the surrounding mountains. Ladurns is also said to be ideal for families.

All of you who like to go on skiing tours, will find our area ideal. Needless to say that the Ridnaun valley is said to be one of the most beautiful ski touring areas with mountains as high as 3000 metres..
