The little village Mareit(1050m) lies amid the beautiful Ridnaun-valley, not far from Sterzing (about 5 miles) - a small town with a romantic shopping street.

Mareit is an ideal starting point for walks, little excursions as well as breathtaking trips round the mountains.

The baroque castle "Wolfsthurn" which is situated on a small hill right in the middle of the village is definitely worth seeing. In the castle you can visit the museum of hunting and fishing. The historian Joh. Nep. Tinkhauser (1828) called Wolfsthurn "The most beautiful castle in Tyrol".
